Boston Aztec NPSL, WPSL seasons end

Boston Aztec NPSL team falls in the playoffs in OT, while the WPSL team ends the season with a loss to the Mutiny.

MEN - Aztecs fall in epic OT playoff match: After a 6-3-1 regular season and second place in the NPSL's Northeastern Conference North Division, the men fell 3-2 in OT to the Northeast Conference's Mid-Atlantic Division Champion Long Island on Sunday, July 27th

A penalty kick by Academy defender Tom Lobben in the 119th minute gave the Long Island Academy a 3-2 overtime victory over the Boston Aztecs in the National Premier Soccer League playoffs tonight. WOMEN - Boston Aztec women finish 4-4-3 in 2008 - The Boston Aztec WPSL team finished third in what is arguably the toughest division in all of the WPSL, ending the season on a down note with a 5-1 loss to the New England Mutiny.

In postseason news, Aztec forward Rebekah Splaine was named to the WPSL's All-East Second Team. As for the playoffs, while the Aztec women missed out on the playoffs, postseason action is well underway. Read a WPSL postseason update here...
