Return to Play Guidelines

Aztec Soccer Club is dedicated to protecting the health of our players, coaches and community. In an effort to assist our players, coaches and parents with ongoing efforts to return and continue to play after the recent suspension of activities due to COVID-19, Aztec has put together the following Return to Field guidelines.

Given the nature of this pandemic, this framework may change at any time based on the most recent CDC and or Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) guidelines. Please keep in mind that local municipalities may have additional guidelines in place that will need to be adhered to.

Aztec requires all players and families to read, understand and conduct themselves in accordance with our Return to Field Guidelines. Implementing the Return to Play Guidelines requires a cooperative effort between coaches, players, and parents/guardians.

▶︎ OPTIONAL PLAY POLICY: Returning to on-field play is a personal and individual decision. Aztec supports those who choose not to participate because they feel uncomfortable for any reason.

▶︎ DISCLAIMER: Participants, parents, family and spectators taking part in soccer and soccer related activities do so with the knowledge of risk and potential exposure involved. In doing so they agree to accept any and all inherent risks to their personal health.

▶︎ COVID-19 REPORTING FORM: Any Aztec Player that tests positive for COVID-19 must complete the Aztec Reporting Form (click here).

Aztec Team Quarantine Protocols (updated 04/02/21)

The following updated protocols in place for Aztec teams that are exposed to a Covid-19 positive individual during a training or match are pursuant to current CDC guidelines and will consist of the following:

  • Return after day 10 without a test
  • Return after day 7 with a negative test taken within the previous 48 hours

*Please note the negative test must be from a PCR test and not a rapid antigen test.

After stopping quarantine, players should:

  • Watch for symptoms until 14 days after exposure. If a player develops symptoms, immediately they should self-isolate and contact the local public health authority or healthcare provider.

Any Aztec Player that tests positive for COVID-19 must complete the Aztec Reporting Form. They are required to follow guidance from the Board of Health and must provide documentation that they are cleared to return to play from a medical professional before returning to Aztec activities.

As always, our Aztec families should not hesitate to contact our Safety Team at with any questions or concerns.
