Program Highlights

The Aztec Academy is designed to maximize FUN by utilizing the “whole-part-whole” methodology. Coaches begin incorporating age appropriate technical training sessions designed to improve player's foot skills, first touch, ball striking, passing/receiving, dynamic athleticism, and soccer intelligence along with approx. 20 minutes of modified scrimmages following all appropriate safety and health protocols.

Through small-sided games, players recognize/grasp the fundamental concepts in attack, defense, and possession. The element of FUN and DISCOVERY is firmly ingrained into each age group celebrating small and large successes.

Our program features the following:

  • Small player to coach ratio
  • New players will receive an Aztec Academy t-shirt
  • Safety and health protocols will be in place and followed for all sessions
  • All Aztec Academy (U6-U8) will be refunded in full up to the third week of classes minus a processing fee of $5 (five dollars), which will be deducted from the refunded amount.
  • All programming is run by professional coaches who adhere to the Aztec Mission and follow an established curriculum led by Academy Director Jeff Winterton.

U6 Academy (Players aged 4.5 - 6 years)

The U6 program is designed to introduce young players (ages 4.5 and 6) to the fundamentals of soccer while having FUN! The program is developmental, meaning the skills instruction and drills are designed for the physical, social, and cognitive level of the U6 player.

Our players take part in weekly training sessions that are focused on developing basic motor and soccer skills and created a love for the game.

This is high energy and lots of fun, giving the youngsters a first taste of soccer!

U8 Academy (Players aged 6.5 - 8 years)

We recognize that there are many talented U8 (6.5- and 8-year-old) players who would benefit from a more focused soccer environment, which continues to nurture their development and prepare them for higher-level soccer.

Our program provides passionate, motivated and advanced U8 players a professional environment with professional coaches and like-minded teammates.

The program focuses on individual skills and small group play, which are essential for good personal and team performance. Our professional coaches will not only educate the players about the game, but give players and parents a view of the skills and techniques necessary for long-term soccer success.

Training topics will focus on dribbling, receiving, passing, ball striking, and principles of attacking and defending in a 1v1 and 2v2 situations, as well as a continued effort to expand each players own coordination, balance, body movement and confidence.
